Our Story
From an online youth ministry to a growing church family.
Gospel Light City Church began as Optimised Youth, an online ministry founded by Pastor Joey & Lady Nana with a simple burden: that young people would encounter Jesus for themselves.
What started on a screen became a room. Over the past four years that room has grown into a church family in Manchester, gathering on Moston Lane and in the city centre, worshipping together, discipling one another and carrying the Gospel out into our streets.
The heart behind it all hasn't changed: to light the life of a generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Joey Amaning
Senior Pastor
“How you dwell in your secret place determines what kind of Christian you will be. All answers in the Christian life are found at the feet of Jesus.”
Pastor Joey's teaching carries one consistent thread: deep fellowship with the Holy Spirit and unhurried, personal time with God in the secret place.
Drawing on the narrative of Mary and Martha, he teaches that sitting at Jesus' feet in personal communion is the believer's highest priority, before working for Him. It is a message that has shaped the culture of this house: we don't just do church, we pursue His presence.
Alongside Lady Nana, Pastor Joey leads with a pastoral heart for young people, believing that if this generation finds Jesus in the secret place, they will shine a greater light to our world.

First Time?
Your first Sunday, answered.
Walking into a church for the first time can feel like a lot. Here's everything you might be wondering, so you can turn up knowing exactly what to expect.
Not at all, and you won't be the only first-timer. We're a youthful, vibrant family and we genuinely love new faces. Come as you are, sit where you like, and take it all in at your own pace.
Whatever you're comfortable in. You'll see everything from jeans and trainers to suits and dresses. There's no dress code here. We care that you came, not what you wore.
For Sundays at 419 Moston Lane there is free on-street parking along Moston Lane and the surrounding residential roads. For Thursdays at Crowne Plaza, Shudehill, there are several NCP and city-centre car parks within a short walk, and Shudehill Interchange is right beside us.

Sunday services run from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Our Thursday teaching service runs 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Absolutely. GLCC Kids runs during our Sunday service for children under 12, with a dedicated, welcoming team. Just let a member of the team know when you arrive.
Never. Giving is entirely voluntary and there's no pressure to respond to anything. You're free to simply come, watch and be welcomed.
Entirely up to you. Someone will welcome you at the door, but if you'd rather slip in, sit at the back and just observe, that's completely fine. No spotlight, no pressure.

We are believing God for a permanent home of our own, suited for 100+ worshippers. A permanent base means we stop packing away chairs and start opening our doors midweek: to young people, to families, to our community.
